Montreal, May 30, 2012 – Major crimes investigators in the City of Montreal need your help in searching for a suspect in connection with a homicide. Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, and is wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant.
On Sunday, May 27th, administrators of STOPCRUSH.ORG were sent a horrific video, to which, after analyzing, we, along with other groups, sent it on to the authorities immediately. Description of the video from the National Post below, is mostly accurate.
“The nearly 11-minute-long video purports to show Mr. Magnotta attacking a naked male, who is tied to a bed frame, with both an ice pick and a kitchen knife, according to the description.
The victim is stabbed, has his throat slashed and is later decapitated and dismembered. The video, filmed in a dimly lit room, also shows the killer playing with his victim’s limbs and using one of them to masturbate. The attacker later performs a sex act on the dismembered, decapitated corpse.
The murderer also uses a knife and fork to slice a piece of fatty flesh from the victim’s rear, and then brings in a dog eat the corpse.” ~ From National Post article
Many of you will remember Luka Rocco Magnotta as the male internet “pornstar” who tortures and sexually abuses animals. Like us, some of you have been publicly reporting about his “activities” and attempting to have authorities take the threat that he obviously poses, quite seriously. Luka-magnotta.com, which is described as Magnotta’s official website, offers little detail about him except for some model-style photographs of himself. However, a profile attributed to “Luka Rocco Magnotta” on ohinternet.com describes Mr. Magnotta as a “Canadian model and bisexual pornstar” who allegedly suffocated two kittens, filmed it, and posted it to YouTube.
Luka Rocco Magnotta is also known by the pseudonyms Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov. He is Caucasian, measuring 1.78 meters, weighs 61 kg, he has blue eyes and black hair.
Following up on a call from a citizen at 10:AM yesterday, police officers arrived at the rear of an apartment building in the Lucy Place, located in the Côte-des-Neiges. There, authorities made the gruesome discovery of human remains in a pile of garbage. The investigation was quickly turned over to the Major Crimes division.
Further investigation led inspectors to a home on Decarie Boulevard, also in the Côte-des-Neiges, where they conducted a search. Forensic biologists were asked to analyze some elements of the scene.
Police are exploring the hypothesis that human remains found in Montreal, are related to a human foot sent to the office of the Conservative Party of Canada in Ottawa yesterday and a package intercepted by Canada Post, which contained a human hand. Concrete evidence enabling the police to link these events must be established before concluding beyond doubt that a link exists. Investigators are continuing with the investigation and asking for your help in finding the suspect.
The police service in Montreal is working closely with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as the Ottawa Police on this issue. Anyone who has information about this case, or in regard to the whereabouts of Luka Rocco Magnotta, should immediately contact 911.
